ATTENDING TALK AT BROOKINGS INSTITUTION

The Brookings Institution provides a wide range of topics which cover politics, economics, education and many more... People from different career backgrounds are free to register online. And today, I attended a talk on TBTF - Too Big To Fail - which discussed economics issues. FYI, I have never been study economics during my school days so it was kind of tough to absorb the discussion...

HONOURED TO MEET PRESIDENT OBAMA!!!

It was my lucky day to meet President Barack Obama at the Mall. Nah... it was just his cut-out cardboard photo of him.
Today, I decided to try Metro Train here in Washington DC. At first, I was kind of not sure but no matter what, at the end I have to know jua how to use Metro Train service. And I found out that it is just a piece of cake as long as you know the destination and interchange where you need to go out and hop on to the next line. There are 5 lines and each coded with red, orange, blue, yellow and green. Since I wanted to go to Pentagon City Mall, I took red-lane at Van Ness-UDC Station then interchange at Gallery PI-Chinatown and hopped on to yellow-lane which I stopped at Pentagon City Station. The route took me less than 30 minutes and costed me about US$7++. Alternatively, I can use blue-lane but it will take me a big longer to get to the Pentagon City.

Please take a note...
The machines where I get my ticket.

To my surprise, the tunnel is so nicely built...

The train went out of the underground tunnel and the rail runs above the Potomac River.
The Pentagon City Station directly connected to the mall.
Some interesting business operators at the Mall...
I thought a Japanese Sushi Restaurant. Nah... Kadai pakaian wat...

WASHINGTON, D.C. READIES FOR SPRING...

Route to my office... This location is just outside the apartment.
I was on the phone with wife... Need to cross the road to get to the office... Just across the road is University of District of Columbia.
Traffic during morning hours...
University's close-up
Up-hill
On way back to the apartment...
A supermarket called GIANT. Its far, far different from the Giant in Brunei... It is comparable with SupaSave supermarket we have back home. A very convenient store where I also buy my groceries... It just takes me few minutes to get there from the apartment.
Route back to the apartment.
Some cherry blossoms indicate spring is coming soon... This friday will officially be the start of the season.

Some plants also start to blossom...

SHOPPING @ PENTAGON CITY MALL

Got nothing to do today (Sunday), I decided to go to the closest mall, the Pentagon City Mall. It takes about 20 minutes from the apartment by taxi and costs me about US$40 return. I was advised to go to Macy's and got what I wanted.
Inside the mall...
